We are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of self-care and looking after our mental health. A helpful way of doing this is to work with qualified counsellors or psychotherapists who are registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical guidelines.
Our mental health and the ability to live a fulfilling and meaningful life is no longer a luxury. It is something that each one of us are entitled to. Working with a qualified counsellor or therapist can help you to identify unhelpful patterns, build new skills or work through past emotional experiences that might still be affecting how we live and feel today. Having a safe, confidential and supportive space to make sense of our experiences and think about goals is a great way to look after ourselves.
Self-care is no longer selfish. We cannot care for others if we cannot care for ourselves.
After you contact us we will arrange an assessment session with you. This is an opportunity to meet your therapist and ask any questions you might have. Your therapist will use the session to consider with you what your concerns, needs and goals might be and how best these might be met together. It is a good opportunity to discuss which approach you feel most comfortable with and get some insight into the process of therapy.
There is no obligation for you to continue with treatment after the session and you are free to change your mind.
It is helpful to note that the assessment session will not be a 'therapy session', but rather an opportunity for your therapist to get some insight into your needs and for you to agree on a way forward that works for you.
When it comes to counselling or therapy one size does not always fit all. It is important at Well In Mind therapy that we are able to offer support that is meaningful and useful to you as an individual.
With this aim in mind we offer an integrative approach that draws on psychodynamic exploration, person-centered values and utilises cognitive behavioural techniques to learn new skills. Your work with your therapist will be as unique and individual as you are.
See 'Services & Prices' for further information.
At Well In Mind Therapy we believe in the importance and value of individual culture, identity and religion. We acknowledge systemic and structural inequity, and incorporate these viewpoints into our therapeutic work. We are a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and offer affirmative support only.
At Well In Mind Therapy your privacy and right to confidentiality is at the forefront of our ethos. All sessions will be held entirely confidential. You will be advised by your therapist of the data collected, how it is used and how it is protected.
